“For the wages of sin is death; but thegift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
Everyone likes to get paid for working. But wages come in a variety of ways and not necessarily money. Take sin for instance…payment is in the form of death. Do we really want to die? I pray the answer is no. I myself have been close to death several times and have even contemplated it. But in a life in Christ, death is not an option. One way to look at it is that death is finality, an end. Satan’s final lie, “be a good dog and play dead.” Yeah, I guess we could do that.
Gifts too, come in a variety of ways and not necessarily materialistic. Take God’s gift of eternal life for instance. We can’t work for it like sin; it’s a gift, freely given through Jesus Christ. And yet how many of us actually believe it? It’s sad that even when people “see and experience” God working in their life…they turn away. Jesus was God’s gift to us and He still is. When we accept Jesus, we in fact accept God; and when we accept God, we accept the fact that we will be with Him…eternally. For many of us this is just too good to be true. There has to be a catch, or a gimmick, or something. Nope, there isn’t. It’s just that simple. There is only one thing we need to do…accept the gift.
Until next time…please pray for deliverance from sin...Luv ya!
